Ethiopia
orgut’s office in addis ababa has been providing backstopping services to the large Sida-supported Sweden-Amhara Rural Development Programme (SARDP) for several years. It works with a high level of autonomy, is familiar with donor procedures and used to work with tight deadlines. Furthermore, it is able to recruit local specialists for technical, logistical and administrative back-up at short notice.
Demelash Gizachew
General Manager
Mr. Demelash Gizachew holds B.A. in Economics at (A.A.U, 1990), certificates and graduate diploma on Urban Development and Land Management in (India, 1999).In addition to his educational background, he worked for several companies, organizations and ministries and has long years experience within the field of rural and urban development issues such as, poverty alleviations and livelihood improvement, preparations of socio-economic development program planning, urban and rural land administration and Local development plan and governance, urban housing and pre –urban land acquisitions, property valuations and resettlement development project. In addition he acquired a sound knowledge and involved in program preparations for various development projects, decentralizations and governance reform, economic diversifications, regional planning, cooperatives development, marketing and investment promotions;, community based integrated natural resource management, small towns development and rural urban linkages, micro and small scale enterprises development ,result based monitoring and evaluations system.
Mr. Demelash worked for ORGUT, as National Rural Land Property Valuation System development Technical Advisor within SARDP, in 2005, and worked as, Business Development Officer and currently as General Manager of ORGUT Ethiopia Branch since 2008.
Besufekad Bekele
Liason Officer and Procurement Expert
Mr Bekele has been working for ORGUT since 1995. He has long experience of procurement, both international and national, and are well aware of the procurement process in Ethiopia. He has a broad network in Addis Ababa and good knowledge of all kind of formalites. Mr Besufekad is right now working on the establish-ment of a new office for the ORGUT Ethiopia Branch at Bole Road in Addis.
Hidra Ali
Financial Officer
Ms. Hidra Ali joined ORGUT in 1999 as accountant for the SARDP team in Bahir Dar. Since July 2009, she is employed by ORGUT Ethiopia Branch and are today working with financial accounting for several international and national ongoing projects. Ms Hidra is working as a link between the branch office in Addis and ORGUT HQ in Stockholm and is responsible for all economic transactions for the Branch Office.
Samson Gebremariam
GIS advisor
Mr. Gebremariam in the Watershed Monitoring and Evaluation (WME) Component of the Tana Beles Integrated Water Resources Development Project (TBIWRDP). He joined ORGUT Ethiopia Branch in June 2009 as National Long Term Consultant and is based in Bahir Dar. Mr Samson has worked in Amhara region since 1994, most of the time as senior GIS Officer for the Finance and Economic Development Bureau. He has been responsible for collecting, organizing, managing, analyzing and distributing regional spatial and non-spatial data, designing the regional spatial database structure, providing analytical information for decision makers, carrying out GIS/ArcGIS trainings for zonal and other experts and for creating a simple GIS application development for end users. His position in the (TBIWRDP) last until June 2013.
